The Secretary of the Party Group and Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Li Lecheng, presided over the 2026 plenary meeting of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's leading group on employment promotion.

On May 19th, Li Lecheng, Secretary of the Party Group of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Minister, and Leader of the Ministry's Employment Promotion Work Leadership Group, chaired the full meeting of the Ministry's Employment Promotion Work Leadership Group for 2026. The meeting emphasized the need to consolidate efforts to promote employment, and to implement various measures more forcefully. It focused on "maintaining growth and expanding capacity", and strengthening the basic employment foundation. It also emphasized the implementation of the new round of ten key industry stability and growth work plans, deepening the implementation of high-quality development actions for key industrial chains in the manufacturing industry, the "AI + manufacturing" special action, stabilizing and expanding the employment scale of traditional manufacturing industries such as light industry, textiles, and clothing, and increasing efforts to expand capacity in emerging industries such as intelligent connected new energy vehicles, high-end equipment, aviation, and aerospace. This is to solidify the employment foundation and expand new employment opportunities. It also focused on "nurturing main entities and increasing absorption", activating the employment absorption engine.
