Perry Warjiyo, Governor of the Bank of Indonesia, stated on Monday in Jakarta during a parliamentary hearing that the Bank of Indonesia is closely monitoring the fluctuation of the Indonesian rupiah, assessing it based on the 20-day average exchange rate trend. The rupiah exchange rate remains stable, with a controlled 5.8% depreciation since the beginning of the year. He is confident that the rupiah will return to the average range of 16,200-16,800 assumed in this year's national budget. Due to increased demand for the US dollar, the rupiah faces seasonal depreciation pressure in the second quarter of each year, but typically strengthens in the following quarter.
