Benson calls on the G7 and other countries to strengthen sanctions against Iran.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Benett called on the G7 and other countries to increase sanctions on Iran, as this conflict has disrupted a large part of global energy trade and shows no signs of ending. Benett said, "We call on all our G7 member countries, all allies, and other countries around the world to adhere to the sanctions regime, in order to enable us to combat illegal financial activities that fund Iran's war machine and return these funds to the Iranian people."
