The total amount of water transferred from the eastern route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project has exceeded 88 billion cubic meters.

Reporters learned from the Ministry of Water Resources and the South-to-North Water Diversion Group Limited Company of China that since the first phase of the Eastern Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project began operation, a total of more than 88 billion cubic meters of water have been diverted, benefiting 1.95 billion people in 48 large and medium-sized cities in 7 provinces. The water quality of the Central Line has been maintained at class II or above, while the Eastern Line has been stable at class III.
