Li Hongzhong said that in November last year, President Xi Jinping met with King Tupou VI of Tonga who visited China, reaching important consensus on deepening Sino-Tongan relations. China is willing to work together with Tonga to continuously enhance political mutual trust, deepen cooperation such as jointly building the "Belt and Road Initiative," promote people-to-people bonds, and promote the continuous healthy and stable development of Sino-Tongan relations, and build a community of shared destiny between China and Pacific island countries.
