Israel approved the purchase of two squadrons of fighter jets from the United States.
The spokesperson for the Israeli Ministry of Defense said on the 3rd that the Israeli military procurement department has approved the purchase of two squadrons of fighter jets from the United States. The Israeli Ministry of Defense issued a statement on the same day, stating that Israel will purchase one squadron of F-35 fighter jets from Lockheed Martin and one squadron of F-15IA fighter jets from Boeing, with a total amount reaching billions of new shekels. The procurement plan includes fully integrating the new fighter jets into the Israeli Air Force, as well as providing comprehensive maintenance, spare parts, and logistical support for the aircraft. This will be Israel's fourth squadron of F-35 fighter jets and second squadron of F-15IA fighter jets purchased from the United States. Israeli Ministry of Defense senior official Amir Baram stated that this procurement is the first step in Israel's military build-up plan for the next decade in response to the "high-risk security situation," which has been approved by the Israeli government and allocated a special budget of 350 billion new shekels. Israeli Defense Minister Katz said that the lessons learned from military actions against Iran require Israel to "continue advancing the construction of air power" to ensure "air superiority for decades to come." Israel will continue to invest in its military strength, constantly enhance its capabilities, and always "stay ahead of the enemy."
