On April 30, Tesla disclosed in a regulatory filing that Musk's total compensation for 2025 is $158.36 billion, 250 million times the median salary of the company's ordinary employees. Although this number is extremely shocking, the company also disclosed several important additional explanations. Tesla stated in the filing that there may be a "significant deviation" between the total compensation for Musk that is publicly disclosed each year and its actual value. Due to Tesla not meeting any market value or operating performance targets last year, Musk's actual take-home pay for last year was zero.
