The Hubei province official started the national subsidy expansion program for trading in old products for new ones on May 1st.

The Department of Commerce of Hubei Province released a notice on the subsidy policy for the addition of new categories of consumer goods in 2026, to be implemented from the date of the announcement until December 31, 2026. It mentions that individual consumers who purchase smart service robots, smart headphones, smart speakers, smart door locks, smart air purifiers, smart dishwashers, smart range hoods, smart toilets, smart water purifiers, ventilators, and other 10 categories of products from participating merchants will be given a subsidy of 15% of the final selling price after deducting discounts at each stage, with each consumer eligible for one subsidy per category, not exceeding 1500 yuan per item.
