Singapore has approved Grab Holdings to launch cross-border ride-hailing services to and from Malaysia. This move is part of the efforts to strengthen connectivity between Singapore and Malaysia, providing more options for commuters at one of the busiest land checkpoints in the world. The Land Transport Authority of Singapore issued a statement on Thursday, stating that GrabCar Private Limited has been granted the first cross-border ride-hailing operating license, valid for three years. Operators must meet requirements for cross-border insurance and vehicle registration verification, and are strictly prohibited from illegally accepting short-haul point-to-point passenger services within the country.
