Mali: The attack on the 25th was aimed at seizing power and ending the transition process.
On the 27th, the Prime Minister of Mali's transitional government, Abdullah Maiga, said that the recent incidents in this West African country were not simple terrorist attacks. The attackers aimed to seize power, dismantle the institutions of the republic, and put an end to the political transition process. Maiga stated during a press conference held in the capital Bamako that on the 25th, multiple places in Mali were simultaneously attacked by terrorists, resulting in the deaths of both military and civilian personnel, including the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Kamara. The attackers attempted to create fear, disrupt national unity, and weaken Mali's resolve to combat terrorism, but their purpose was not successful. He mentioned that under the leadership of interim President Goita, the military has responded forcefully to terrorist elements nationwide, resulting in the elimination of hundreds of terrorists.
