Ghanaian military convoy attacked while escorting civilians, killing 7 armed individuals.
The Ghana Armed Forces issued a statement on the 27th stating that a military convoy was attacked by unidentified armed individuals while escorting civilians, resulting in 3 deaths and 1 injury among the civilians. 7 attackers were killed in the incident. The statement mentioned that the convoy was transporting 140 civilians from the Upper East Region's Bawku area to the capital of Bolgatanga when they came under multiple gunfire attacks. The military killed 7 attackers and arrested 10 suspects. Due to long-standing tribal disputes in the area, the military has stationed troops in the Bawku area in order to maintain peace.
