According to the Israeli newspaper "Haaretz," the Israeli Ministry of Defense stated that this transaction, led by its Defense Procurement Agency, is aimed at strengthening what it calls "military independence" and preparing for "immediate combat scenarios" and a "tense decade of security." Israeli Defense Minister Gantz stated that this deal is part of ongoing efforts to enhance Israel's ammunition supply independence.
