Iranian gunboats opened fire on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz while their own country's oil tanker breached the US blockade.
On Wednesday, Iranian gunboats opened fire on two ships in the Strait of Hormuz, with Tehran continuing to firmly control this key energy passage. At the same time, Iran's own two super tankers are testing the US blockade. The UK Maritime Trade Operations office, responsible for liaising with the shipping industry, stated on X platform that a cargo ship and a container ship were fired upon in this waterway. Meanwhile, analysis company Vortexa stated that Iran has already had super tankers enter the Arabian Sea, the area where the US is trying to prevent Iranian shipping. This week, at least two fully loaded Iranian oil tankers have left the Persian Gulf and broken through the US blockade.
