To meet the travel demands of the May Day holiday, Xinjiang Railway plans to increase the operation of 302 additional temporary train services.
According to the China Railway Urumqi Bureau Group Co., Ltd., this year's "May Day" holiday railway transport period will start from April 29 and end on May 6, a total of 8 days. The Xinjiang railway department expects to send 1.7996 million passengers, a 2% increase compared to last year, and plans to add 302 temporary passenger trains. Among them, there will be 30 temporary passenger trains in the Chengdu West and Lanzhou inter-provincial direction, and 272 in the Xinjiang direction. In terms of travel within Xinjiang, the railway department will increase the number of trains to the south by 116, to the north by 142, and to the east by 14 temporary passenger trains to meet the needs of passengers.
