On April 18th, rumors about the domestic AI giant DeepSeek possibly initiating its first external financing have been circulating in the industry. According to the latest report from a vertical media outlet in the technology and business sector, DeepSeek is in talks to bring in external capital for the first time, hoping to bolster its financial reserves to gain a more advantageous position in the high-cost competition of developing top artificial intelligence models. The company had previously rejected investment invitations from top Chinese venture capital firms and technology giants. However, according to two sources, the startup has recently started engaging with investors and plans to raise at least $3 billion in funds at a valuation of at least $10 billion. A senior executive from a large state-owned equity organization stated, "There is feedback from channels that the news about DeepSeek launching its first external financing is likely true, but we currently cannot commit to investing," and added, "I cannot reveal more information." Additionally, on April 18th, the journalist tried to contact two executives from Quantitative Sorcery through personal phone calls, WeChat messages, and other means to verify the financing news related to DeepSeek, but as of the time of writing, both executives' phones were not answered, and there was no reply to the WeChat messages.
