At the close of European markets on Friday, the yield on the 10-year UK government bond rose by 8.8 basis points, hitting a daily high of 4.837%, with a cumulative increase of 0.3 basis points for the week. After a gap down opening on April 8th, it gradually regained lost ground. The yield on the 2-year UK government bond rose by 8.5 basis points, reaching a daily high of 4.266%, with a weekly decline of 6.2 basis points. The yield on the 30-year UK government bond rose by 10.3 basis points to a daily high of 5.504%, with a cumulative increase of 3.9 basis points for the week; the yield on the 50-year UK government bond also rose by 10.3 basis points to a daily high of 5.504%, with a weekly increase of 3.7 basis points. The yield spread between the 2-year and 10-year UK government bonds increased by 0.517 basis points to +57.266 basis points, with a weekly increase of 6.668 basis points.
