The Israeli Defense Forces issued a statement on the 6th, stating that they had carried out airstrikes on a large petrochemical complex in the Asaluyeh region of southern Iran on the same day. The facility is Iran's largest petrochemical complex. The statement said that the IDF had struck two major petrochemical complexes in Iran, causing over 85% of Iran's petrochemical export capacity to be severely damaged. The statement mentioned that the facilities in Asaluyeh contained key infrastructure for producing explosive materials and ballistic missile propellants, which are crucial to Iran's missile industry. The IDF will continue to escalate attacks on Iran's core infrastructure for weapons production in order to cause "extensive and sustained damage" to its military manufacturing capabilities.
