Megawatt-class hydrogen fuel aviation turboprop engine first flight successful
On April 4th, the megawatt-level hydrogen fuel aviation turboprop engine AEP100 independently developed by China Aviation Power Group Hunan Power Machinery Research Institute was successfully flown with a 7.5-ton unmanned transport aircraft at Zhuzhou Lusong Airport. It is reported that this is the world's first test flight of a megawatt-level hydrogen fuel aviation turboprop engine. Throughout the entire flight, the engine operated normally with a good condition. The airborne flight time was 16 minutes, the flight distance was 36 kilometers, the flight speed was 220 kilometers per hour, the airborne flight altitude was 300 meters, and after completing the scheduled flight tasks, the aircraft successfully returned. The first flight was a complete success.
