Hungarian Prime Minister: European energy crisis is approaching, EU should quickly replenish oil and gas reserves.
Hungarian Prime Minister Orban stated on social media on the 4th local time that a serious energy crisis is looming, and the European economy is being threatened by energy shortages and price increases. The only way to avoid this imminent crisis is for the EU to replenish its oil and gas reserves from all possible sources in the maximum quantity and at the fastest pace. Every day is crucial. Orban stated that he had a meeting with the Slovak Prime Minister Hizo that day. He said that Hungary and Slovakia have requested Brussels to immediately lift sanctions and restrictions on Russian energy in order to have Ukrainian President Zelensky immediately open the "Friendship" oil pipeline. In addition, plans to reject proposals to abandon Russian energy and instead adopt the more expensive and unsustainable Brussels energy policy should be implemented immediately.
