Ministry of Water Resources: The southern region has quickly entered the flood period work mode, taking precautions ahead of the first round of heavy rainfall since the beginning of the flood season this year.

Starting from April 1st, our country officially entered the flood season. The southern regions will welcome the first round of heavy rain since the start of the season this year. It is predicted that from April 2nd to 4th, there will be a heavy rainfall process in most parts of Jiangnan, eastern and northern parts of southern China, and eastern parts of southwestern China. Some areas in the central and southern parts of Hunan, central Jiangxi, western Zhejiang, northwestern Fujian, central and northern Guangdong, and northeastern Guangxi will experience heavy rain. As a result, rivers such as the Xiang River and its tributary Liuyang River in Hunan, the Gan River, Fu River, and Xin River in Jiangxi, the Qiantang River in the upper reaches of Zhejiang, the Min River in the upper reaches of Fujian and its tributaries Fuxun River and Jian River, and the East River in Guangdong and its tributary Xinfeng River will experience rising water levels. Some small and medium-sized rivers in areas with heavy rain may experience floods exceeding the warning levels. The Ministry of Water Resources has entered the flood season working status since April 1st, initiating 24-hour flood prevention duty and consultation, analyzing the rainfall and water situation, and urging and reminding local authorities to implement various defense measures in a timely manner.
