The price of sodium batteries is expected to catch up with lithium batteries within the next few years.
Regarding the question of when sodium batteries will be more economical than lithium batteries, on March 31st, Li Shujun, general manager of Zhongkehai Sodium, told Interface News during a media interview that both sodium batteries and lithium batteries have a certain price range. The price of lithium batteries is mainly between 0.3 yuan and 0.5 yuan per watt-hour, while sodium batteries are currently between 0.5 yuan and 0.7 yuan per watt-hour, depending on the specific application scenarios. Li Shujun believes that the cost of sodium ion batteries is rapidly decreasing, while that of lithium batteries is increasing, and the price ranges of the two will intersect and overlap. The intersection point has a clear milestone, indicating that market integration has been established, and market confidence is expected to change accordingly. He predicts that the price convergence point will occur next year, and the overlap will be formed the year after. "We believe that next year is quite certain," Li Shujun said.
