The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council holds a routine press conference. A reporter asked about the case of mainland spouse Xu Chunying. Spokesperson Zhang Han said that Xu Chunying is another example of the judicial persecution of mainland spouses by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities. Recently, the DPP authorities have been extremely suppressive and persecutory towards mainland spouses, using intimidation, detention, and imprisonment, among other measures. Mainland spouses have become the largest group of victims of the "green terror" because they are from the mainland, and to the DPP authorities, they must be eliminated. Is this what the DPP authorities truly mean by democracy and freedom?
