Zambia declares a state of emergency for fuel supply in the country.
On March 31 local time, the Zambian government announced that the country's fuel supply has entered a state of emergency, and a series of emergency measures have been implemented to alleviate the fuel shortage crisis. It is reported that the Zambian government held a special cabinet meeting on that day, approving the implementation of zero value-added tax on gasoline and diesel imports, and suspending the collection of consumption tax. These measures will take effect from April 1, 2026, for a period of 3 months.
