According to the relevant person from the Ministry of Commerce, In terms of policy support, relevant departments will launch the optimized version 2.0 of duty-free shopping measures for overseas travelers, making shopping more convenient and affordable. They will also introduce measures to promote the expansion and upgrade of consumer goods, including expanding the consumption of domestic trendy products, international boutique products, fashionable name-brand products, and high-quality foreign trade products. In terms of event arrangements, more than 20 key events such as the International Consumer Season and Boutique Consumer Month will be organized. They will also organize city-specific and local events for "shopping in China," guide various regions to coordinate business, tourism, cultural, sports, and health resources to meet diverse consumer demands. In addition, the Ministry of Commerce will deepen the cultivation and construction of international consumer center cities, and create a number of international consumer gathering areas. They will also launch pilot projects for new consumer formats, models, and scenes, creating new consumer scenes with strong experiential value, broad influence, and high visibility. Deputy Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping stated that at this Consumer Expo, they will launch the 2026 "Shopping in China" International Consumer Season to help consumers enjoy purchasing global boutique products, and will also simultaneously launch the 8th National Double-brand Online Shopping Festival and other activities. They will accelerate the cultivation of high-quality local brands, making China a gathering place for global quality products.
