World Athletics: Gender identity should not take precedence over biological facts.
The International Olympic Committee Executive Committee officially approved a new rule on women's competitions on the 26th, specifying that only "physiological females" will be allowed to participate in women's events. A spokesperson for World Athletics subsequently expressed support for this new rule, emphasizing that "gender identity should not override biological facts". The new rule from the International Olympic Committee strictly limits participation in women's Olympic events to athletes who have been identified as physiological females through a one-time SRY gene screening. This regulation will be in effect for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and future Olympic Games, with the aim of protecting the fairness, safety, and integrity of women's competitions.
