The China Passenger Car Association released the February 2026 New Energy Vehicle Three-electric System Insights Report. In February 2026, the installed capacity of power batteries for new energy vehicles was 27.3GWh, a year-on-year decrease of 19.2%. The cumulative year-on-year growth rate of power battery market in January and February reached 37.4%. With the continuous increase in sales of new energy vehicles, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles continues to grow, driving the continuous growth of power battery installed capacity. In January and February 2026, the average battery capacity per new energy vehicle was 62.0kWh, a year-on-year increase of 29.2%. Xiaomi, BYD, and Tesla are the main contributors to the installation of power batteries. In terms of battery cell materials, the proportion of lithium iron phosphate remains high. Due to the comprehensive advantages in cost, safety, and performance, as well as factors such as policies, markets, and energy storage, lithium iron phosphate batteries have continued to increase their market share in the new energy vehicle market.
