Meituan customer service responded to the deletion of photos and has fixed it promptly.
On March 24th, the topic of "Meituan deleting photos" trended on hot search, sparking discussions. Several Android users on social networking platforms reported that without performing any actions, hundreds to thousands of photos and videos in their phone galleries were automatically deleted, with system interception logs showing that the app responsible for the deletion was Meituan. Screenshots shared by users showed that during the deletion process, users could clearly see Meituan deleting photos and videos on their phone screens. Some users also claimed that Meituan once deleted thousands of photos and videos from their phones. Additionally, this issue was not isolated, as other Android users also encountered similar situations.
In response, the Meituan customer service account stated, "Upon investigation, in certain versions of the Android system, conflicts with third-party plugins may lead to abnormal prompts during cache cleaning, which does not involve the reading, storing or leakage of your personal information. We have promptly fixed the issue. If cleaning files does indeed involve your personal files, you can restore them by going to the phone's recycle bin or recently deleted folder. If you need assistance, we will provide you with one-on-one technical support."
