Vietnamese Prime Minister Visits Russia, Seeks Energy Cooperation
According to a report from TASS on the 23rd, Russian Prime Minister Mishustin held talks with visiting Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Moscow on the same day. Mishustin stated that Russia highly values the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and the expansion of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. Both sides are committed to creating favorable conditions for investment growth in both countries and have initiated new projects in industries such as industry and energy. The two countries' oil and gas companies have signed agreements to effectively promote the implementation of oil and gas field development projects. After the talks that day, the two sides signed a government agreement on the construction of Vietnam's first nuclear power plant. According to the Vietnam News Agency, Pham Minh Chinh's visit will last from the 22nd to the 25th, marking the first visit to Russia by a senior Vietnamese leader this year. During his visit, Pham Minh Chinh will also meet with Russian President Putin. The two sides will discuss strengthening Vietnam-Russia relations, especially further expanding cooperation in the nuclear power and oil and gas sectors. The visit is expected to "open up new opportunities for both sides to enhance trade to a higher level". Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Quynh said that this visit will inject new momentum into consolidating the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.
