On the 21st, American media revealed that Saudi Arabia is trying to prevent Yemen's Houthi armed forces from joining the conflict between Iran and the United States and Israel. The Wall Street Journal cited anonymous American officials as saying that Saudi Arabia is doing its best to avoid the Houthi armed forces from joining the conflict and supporting Iran. The report stated that the United States and Israel are also trying to avoid provocative actions that may provoke a response from the Houthi armed forces. After the United States and Israel launched military strikes against Iran at the end of February, the Houthi armed forces in Yemen, long supported by Iran, stated that the organization "fully supports" Iran and is prepared to take action when necessary. Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the Houthi armed forces' political bureau, told Russian news agency on the 20th that to support Iran, the organization may block the Strait of Hormuz. Al-Bukhaiti said that the Houthi armed forces are considering all possible options to support Iran in resisting military strikes from the United States and Israel. If they have to close the Strait of Hormuz, the Yemeni Houthi armed forces will only attack ships from countries involved in attacks on Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine.
