On the 22nd, a reporter from the main station learned that Tokyo Electric Power Company stated that the damaged components related to the shutdown of Unit 6 of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, due to electrical leakage had been replaced and electricity generation and transmission had resumed on the same day. Prior to this, on March 12, according to Tokyo Electric Power Company, the unit was triggering an alarm during a trial operation in the afternoon, indicating a minor electrical leakage from the generator. Tokyo Electric Power decided on the 13th to halt the electricity generation and transmission of this unit for inspection of the situation.
