As of the week ending on March 17, the data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission showed that speculators in COMEX gold increased their net long positions by 3682 contracts to 105920 contracts. Speculators in COMEX silver decreased their net long positions by 420 contracts to 9301 contracts. Stock fund managers reduced their net long positions in CME S&P 500 index by 9545 contracts to 884457 contracts. Stock fund speculators reduced their net short positions in CME S&P 500 index by 15414 contracts to 326497 contracts.
