Sudanese leader: The ceasefire must be based on the condition of rapid support for the complete withdrawal of troops.
On the 19th local time, Sudan Sovereignty Council President and Armed Forces General Commander Burhan stated that the prerequisite for any peace agreement between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces is that the latter must completely withdraw from the areas they are occupying. Burhan said in a televised speech that the Sudanese government is willing to actively participate in sincere peace initiatives, but the Sudanese Armed Forces will not cease fire until the Rapid Support Forces completely withdraw from the areas they are occupying. He also emphasized that any peace agreement should include a clear ceasefire timetable and should not allow for the presence of illegal armed forces outside the government.
