Traditional craftsmanship demand surges in AI data center, with a projected over 100% growth in demand for robot technicians from 2022 to 2026.
A survey report released by the globally renowned human resources service organization Randstad Group on the 18th showed that with the emergence of artificial intelligence, or AI data centers worldwide, there is a sharp increase in demand for traditional skilled workers such as electricians and plumbers, leading to a severe shortage of skilled workers globally. From 2022 to 2026, the demand for robotics technicians worldwide is expected to increase by 107%. The CEO of Randstad Group stated that the true constraint on global technological growth is not just a shortage of chips, energy, or capital, but a severe shortage of specialized technical skills needed to build the hardware related to artificial intelligence, as AI cannot create data centers on its own. Due to the supply-demand imbalance, wages for professional technical workers are increasing. The survey shows that in the past four years, recruitment wages for HVAC engineers have increased by about 10% to 15%, and after entering the data center field, salaries for skilled workers have generally increased by 25% to 30%.
