General Administration of Customs notifies typical cases of imported consumer goods failing to meet quality and safety standards.
On the occasion of the upcoming "3.15" International Consumer Rights Day, the General Administration of Customs announced 100 typical cases of imported consumer goods found to be substandard in quality and safety during inspections in 2025. The typical cases mentioned in this announcement include clothing with excessive formaldehyde content and unacceptable pH values, as well as food contact products such as tableware and kitchenware with excessive migration of elements such as lead, aluminum, chromium, cobalt, manganese, and nickel. Customs has ordered the parties involved to destroy or return the substandard imported consumer goods in accordance with the laws and regulations such as the People's Republic of China Import and Export Commodity Inspection Law and its implementing regulations.
