Market Analysis: Apple's commission cut is good news for Chinese game developers.
Apple's recent move to reduce channel fees is a boon for Chinese game developers and companies offering subscription services through apps. Starting from Sunday, Apple will lower its commission rate for in-app purchases and paid app transactions in the Chinese market from 30% to 25%. Analysts suggest that Android stores in China may also face pressure to reduce channel fees, as most new games currently have fees of 50%, although some fees have slightly decreased in recent years through individual negotiations. They point out that thanks to Apple's decision, Chinese game companies, especially Tencent, NetEase, and Century Huatong, are expected to enjoy higher profit margins.
