Boeing claims that the acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems will help improve safety.

Boeing expects that the acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems will help strengthen its efforts to improve safety and quality. The aircraft manufacturer stated in its annual shareholder report that the acquisition is a "significant step in supporting production stability" and strengthens "efforts to improve safety and quality across all of our factories, operations, and supply chain." Boeing stated that after implementing strict production rate readiness processes in line with its Safety Management System guidelines, the company has been able to increase production rates of the 737 and 787 aircraft. Previously, the company had faced several safety and manufacturing issues.
