The National Conference on Registration Management and Quality Supervision of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2026 was held in Guangzhou from February 27th to 28th. The conference pointed out that 2026 is the beginning of the "15th Five-Year Plan," and the entire system should always be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, ensuring high-level safety with efficient supervision, promoting the improvement of traditional Chinese medicine quality, and fostering innovation in traditional Chinese medicine. First, we must adhere to higher standards and stricter requirements to establish a solid safety baseline for traditional Chinese medicine and steadily improve its quality. Second, we must plan key tasks in traditional Chinese medicine supervision in the "15th Five-Year Plan" with a systematic approach, continuously strengthen the supervision of the entire traditional Chinese medicine industry chain, and promote the transformation and upgrading of the traditional Chinese medicine industry. Third, we must focus on clinical value, comprehensively deepen regulatory reforms, continuously improve the evaluation and approval system, implement actions to raise standards, and promote the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine.
