At the beginning of the new semester, the Ministry of Education issued guidelines to strengthen school physical education, aesthetic education, and labor education. It is required that students in primary and secondary schools engage in at least 2 hours of comprehensive physical activities every day, with a 15-minute break between classes. There should be diversified sports courses for students in universities, starting from the third grade, and extracurricular physical exercise should be organized. Mandatory labor education courses for students at all levels of education should be implemented. Training and staffing for mental health education teachers should be strengthened, and all teachers, especially class teachers in primary and secondary schools and counselors in universities, should be trained to identify and effectively address students' mental health issues. Vision health monitoring for students should be enhanced, and parents should be guided to change their focus from treatment to prevention. Programs for preventing and controlling obesity in primary and secondary school students should be implemented, along with screening for overweight and obese students. Schools should take primary responsibility for food safety, with principals as the first responsible person, and strictly enforce the system of having responsible personnel eat with the students. Life safety education should be strengthened, and knowledge and skills in emergency first aid should be popularized.
