After the Spring Festival holiday, the exchange rate of the Renminbi against the US dollar continued to be strong, ushering in a continuous appreciation. On February 26th, the offshore Renminbi against the US dollar reached a highest point of 6.83605, reflecting the expectations of international investors, with an increase of over 0.25% compared to the previous trading day. "The fact that the offshore Renminbi leads the gains is a sign that the sentiment in the foreign exchange market is high during this period, which is also an important factor driving the Renminbi to be strong and break through key levels," said Wang Qing, chief macro analyst at Orient Securities. Wang Qing believes that in the short term, considering that the stable trend in the external environment is likely to continue, China's exports will maintain a relatively fast growth in the first quarter, coupled with the high sentiment in the foreign exchange market at present, the possibility of a sharp rebound in the US dollar index in the short term is small. It is expected that the Renminbi will remain in a strong trend for some time after the Spring Festival. For the whole year, the exchange rate of the Renminbi against the US dollar will mainly depend on three factors: the trend of the US dollar, changes in China's external economic and trade environment, and the effectiveness of domestic policies to stabilize growth.
