The Ministry of News and Broadcasting in Pakistan released a statement on social media platforms in the early hours of the 22nd, saying that the Pakistani military carried out airstrikes, targeting 7 terrorist camps and hideouts in the border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The statement mentioned that this action was taken in response to a series of recent suicide bombings in Pakistan, including the explosion at a mosque in Islamabad and bombings in Bajaur and Bannu regions. The "Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan" and its affiliated organizations, as well as the "Islamic State Khorasan Province," claimed responsibility for these attacks. The statement emphasized that Pakistan is committed to maintaining regional peace and stability, but at the same time, ensuring the safety of Pakistani citizens remains the government's top priority. Therefore, the operation against the terrorist camps and hideouts mentioned above is a "retaliatory response."
