Glencore has reached an agreement with the National Mining Company of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on a land agreement. The commodity giant stated that the agreement will increase the production of its Kamoto Copper Company (KCC). In a statement on Wednesday, Glencore said that KCC will lease a "comprehensive long-term mining rights and leases" from the Congolese state-owned enterprise Gecamines. The statement said that this deal will allow the subsidiary to expand the capacity of its tailings storage facility and waste rock piles.
