In recent days, the annual flower market in Kunming, the largest fresh cut flower market in Asia, has seen a high demand for flowers for the Lunar New Year. Imported tulips and peonies are popular, while local roses and lilies are also selling well. One merchant mentioned that the export volume this month is five times higher than usual. The head of a fresh flower import and export company stated, "Compared to the same period last year, our exports have increased by 100%. We hope to establish ourselves in the market and promote our flowers internationally, not only in terms of quantity but also quality." According to customs statistics, in January, Dianzhong Customs supervised the export of 9,748.47 tons of fresh cut flowers, with over 5 million stems per day on average, a 21.09% increase compared to last year, with a value of 192.7 million yuan, an increase of 22.97%.
