The State Council Food Safety Office and the Market Supervision Administration have deployed local authorities to strengthen the quality and safety control of infant formula milk powder.
In response to the recent Nestl infant formula recall due to the detection of Clostridium botulinum vomiting toxin, the State Council Food Safety Office and the State Administration for Market Regulation have attached great importance to this issue. They have urged Nestl to complete the recall of specific batches of products sold in mainland China. As of now, there have been no confirmed cases of botulism poisoning caused by the consumption of infant formula in China. The State Administration for Market Regulation has deployed measures to strengthen the quality control of infant formula milk powder across the country, urging all manufacturers to conduct testing for Clostridium botulinum vomiting toxin, strictly inspecting raw materials and ensuring product quality, in order to fully protect the safety of infant formula milk powder.
