Japanese government bonds hit a record high at the end of last year.

Data released by the Japanese Ministry of Finance on the 10th shows that as of the end of 2025, the total national debt of Japanese government bonds, loans, and government short-term securities reached 134.217 trillion yen, an increase of 2.454 trillion yen from the end of 2024, hitting a record high.
