Microsoft explores the use of high-temperature superconductors to reconstruct the power supply of data centers, targeting the "power bottleneck" of AI computing power.
Microsoft revealed in its latest official blog that it is evaluating the introduction of high-temperature superconducting cables into data center power systems to reduce losses, compress volume, and increase power density, mitigating infrastructure constraints under the expansion of AI computing power. Once this direction is implemented, it may reshape data center power architecture and have a long-term driving force on superconducting materials, advanced power grids, and the nuclear fusion industry chain.
