Germany's mergers and acquisitions transaction volume has reached approximately $260 billion this year.
The intermediaries of Germany's mergers and acquisitions transactions are experiencing one of the best starts to the year in history. Data shows that since the beginning of 2026, the total value of transactions involving German companies has more than doubled, reaching approximately $26 billion. This level is similar to the same period during prosperous years like 2007 and 2021, while the increase in transaction volume for the entire Europe is much more moderate. These transactions involve some of Germany's most representative companies, including the national stock exchange Deutsche Brse Group, sports brand Puma, chemical giant Henkel, and construction materials manufacturer Heidelberg Materials.
