On January 28th and 29th, the Chinese Academy of Sciences held its 2026 annual work conference in Beijing. The meeting focused on the formulation of the "15th Five-Year Plan" research, the pursuit and organization of major scientific and technological tasks, mission-driven institutionalized basic research, the transformation of research paradigm and management driven by artificial intelligence, construction of scientific and technological basic capabilities, deepening reforms in research institutes, promoting the development of education and scientific and technological talent, high-level open cooperation, overall development and security, and strengthening the comprehensive leadership of the party in scientific and technological work, making deployments for key work across the entire academy in 2026.
