The South Korean government denies "discriminating against" Coolpang company despite complaints from the United States.
Han Han-kyu, head of the Trade Negotiations Bureau of the South Korean Ministry of Industry, said on the 24th that the investigation launched by the South Korean government into the data breach by e-commerce giant Coupang does not involve "discrimination" and should not escalate into a trade dispute between South Korea and the United States. Han-kyu returned to South Korea from Davos, Switzerland on the same day and told reporters at Incheon International Airport that he had met with U.S. Trade Representative James Grill during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, where they exchanged views on bilateral trade affairs. He has informed Grill that the investigation into Coupang is not because it is an American company.
