The State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office responds to the Democratic Progressive Party's oppression and persecution of mainland Chinese spouses.
In response to the recent repression and persecution of mainland spouses by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities, the spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office, Peng Qing'en, pointed out in a routine press conference on the 21st that in recent times, the DPP authorities, out of their "Taiwan independence" nature, have arbitrarily violated the rights of mainland spouses, suppressed and bullied mainland spouses, and spared no effort to seriously disrupt the peaceful lives of cross-strait families and seriously undermine the legitimate rights of cross-strait marital groups. We strongly condemn this. As for the "Taiwan independence" henchmen who persecute mainland spouses, we will hold them accountable according to law and punish them severely.
