Guangdong's digital industry ranks first in the country in scale, with the recent recognition of 132 provincial-level advanced intelligent factories.

In 2025, Guangdong once again consolidated its leading position in the core battlefield of the digital economy. On January 20th, a journalist from Southern Finance and Economics learned at the province-wide industrial and information technology work conference in Guangdong that the information service industry in Guangdong Province achieved a leapfrog development in 2025, with the scale of the digital industry ranking first in the country. Not only did it continue to lead in terms of industry volume, but it also achieved structural breakthroughs in key areas such as open source ecology and new infrastructure, providing a powerful engine for "digital and reality integration". During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the revenue of Guangdong's software industry increased from 1.36 trillion yuan to over 2.5 trillion yuan. By 2025, the total revenue of the province's digital industry had exceeded 8 trillion yuan, consistently ranking first in the country. In terms of empowering industrial upgrading through "intelligence reform and digital transformation", Guangdong vigorously promoted intelligent manufacturing, newly identified 132 provincial-level advanced intelligent factories, 6 companies were selected as national excellent intelligent factories, and the first national leading intelligent factory in Guangdong was established.
